Friday music is back on at Campus Martius.
Small concerts hosted by Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) Parks + Public Space will be presented weekly at the park in the heart of the city.
Staged in the Campus Martius beach area – which includes 200 pounds of sand, a walk-up bar and outdoor dining at the Fountain Detroit – the shows will run 4-9 p.m. Fridays through Sept. 4.
This Friday will feature the funky reggae services of guitarist Ras Kente and Kamal Amen-Ra Trio, followed by DJ Eddie Riott.

Attendance is capped at 100 at any given time, and security will be on hand to enforce social distancing where needed.
The Friday music events are part of wider slate of scaled-down park activities rolled out by the DDP this summer, including crafts markets, organized exercise and food trucks.
